Terms of Service
Last updated 29 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-29
Plain language where we can. Please read them before using ZFINET.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between ZFINET ("we", "us") and the business or person who creates a ZFINET account ("you", "the operator"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use ZFINET for a business, you confirm you may bind that business.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
2. The service
ZFINET is software for running paid Wi-Fi hotspots: a captive portal where your customers buy access, payment collection through our payment partner, management of your MikroTik routers, access codes and vouchers, SMS messages, reports, and tools for your staff.
You provide and remain responsible for your own internet connection, routers, access points and premises. We do not provide internet access to your customers; you do.
3. Your account and team
- Keep your login details and two-factor authentication secure. Owners and administrators must turn on two-factor authentication.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by staff you invite and API tokens you create.
- Give each person only the access they need, and remove people who no longer work for you.
- Tell us promptly at billing@rcodez.com if you believe your account has been misused.
4. Trial, plans and payment
- New organizations get a free trial. At the end of it, choose a plan to keep selling.
- Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance by invoice. Prices shown include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Plans include limits (for example locations, routers, staff and a monthly SMS allowance). SMS sent beyond your credit to deliver access codes are added to your next invoice.
- Upgrades take effect straight away with a prorated invoice; downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
- If an invoice is unpaid after its due date and the grace period, your account is limited: staff can view data and pay, but new sales and changes pause. Customers already online stay connected. Paying restores everything.
- You can cancel at any time; the subscription ends at the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are not refundable unless required by law.
5. Payments from your customers
Customer payments are processed by our payment partner (currently Paystack) under its own terms, which you must also accept. Money settles to the account you connect, either as a subaccount of ours or through your own payment provider keys. We never hold your customers' money.
You set your prices and are responsible for your customers: receipts, refunds, complaints, and any taxes on your sales. Refunds made through ZFINET are sent through the payment partner and cancel the customer's access.
6. Your responsibilities
- Use the service lawfully, including telecommunications, consumer protection, data protection and tax laws where you operate.
- Hold any licence or registration needed to resell internet access, and make sure your own internet provider allows resale.
- Give your customers clear terms and a privacy notice for your Wi-Fi (the portal lets you publish them).
- Keep your routers updated and their setup scripts and passwords private.
- Only send messages to customers that relate to their purchase or that they agreed to receive.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use ZFINET to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- send spam or misleading messages;
- collect payments for goods or services other than Wi-Fi access without our written agreement;
- attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its limits or security;
- resell or give access to the platform itself to third parties, except through the API as intended.
8. API and webhooks
API tokens act with the permissions of the person who created them. Keep tokens and webhook secrets private and rotate them if exposed. We may limit request rates to protect the service.
9. Data
You own the data you and your customers put into ZFINET. For your Wi-Fi customers' personal data, you are the data controller and we process it on your behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You can export customer data at any time. After your account closes we keep data only as long as the Privacy Policy and the law require, then delete or anonymize it.
10. Availability and support
We work to keep ZFINET available and to fix problems quickly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Your routers keep enforcing access already sold even if they cannot reach us. We may change or improve features; if we remove something important you pay for, we will tell you in advance.
11. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is unpaid, and will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or revenue, or problems caused by your internet connection, routers, payment partner or SMS provider.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You will cover our losses from claims caused by your breach of these terms or your use of the service unlawfully.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give notice of material changes by email or in the app before they take effect. The version you accepted is recorded with your account.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and its courts have jurisdiction, unless the law where you are based requires otherwise. Questions? Email billing@rcodez.com.
